Senator’s Defection: Not Enough For APC To Win Election – LG Boss

2 days ago 2

The executive chairman of Etsako East local government council, Edo State, Hon. Benedicta Attoh, has dismissed fears of losing Etsako East LGA due to Senator Francis Alimikhena’s defection to All Progressives Congress (APC).

The council chairman, who was reacting to the defection fears in some quarters, said that Etsako East stands on the strength of the masses and not on an individual, charging the people of the council to remain steadfast and committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The statement signed by her chief press secretary (CPS), Benjamin Atu, the former personal assistant and spokesman to Senator Francis Alimikhena, called on the people to resist the temptation of following anyone to any other party.

While reaffirming her support and stand for the PDP, the Etsako East council chairman urged youths and women to vote for Ighodalo in his determination to create a new Edo state where everyone’s dreams can be realised.

She described the future of Edo as a collective enterprise that we must all resolve to safeguard by voting for a governor who can create an economic system that allows our people to choose their development model to construct and build an economy that can function for the masses.

“Ighodalo is prepared to engage the rest of the world in creating jobs and prosperity for all Edo people. It’s time to fulfil our sacred duty in our quest for a better state that will keep us all together.

“Let no man’s heart fail him, for those with us are greater than what the eyes can see. We have a candidate who has lived a campaign-perfect life, assuring that Asue Ighodalo will win the Saturday Governorship election.”

“The majority are with us, and the election is about numbers, not individual status. Brace yourselves for an assured victory by constituting yourselves as a one-man liberation army driven by passion to elect a Governor who can heal all that ails us.

“The only party that has such a formidable candidate is the PDP. Power belongs to God, and I am more prepared for a victory for the PDP on Saturday. It’s time to vote for capacity rather than political party. Asue Ighodalo represents a governor who can provide hope during a crisis and guide the state through difficult economic situations with renewed hope and commitment.

“The hardship, sinking economy, starvation, joblessness, increase in insecurity and the unstable value of the naira that has made Nigeria a laughing stock in the comity of nations is a sufficient reason why no one should cast their votes for the APC,” Attoh advised.
