Simi Announces New Album, ‘Lost And Found’

Nigerian singer-songwriter Simi recently took to social media to share a message with her fans, revealing the emotional story behind her upcoming album, Lost And Found.

Scheduled for release on July 5th, 2024, Simi discussed the personal trials and discoveries that have influenced her new project.

“For most of my life, I have enjoyed the privilege of knowing myself deeply, unwaveringly, truly. In more recent years, I have also endured the discomfort of losing myself,” she wrote. Simi explained that creating the album was a journey of rediscovering parts of herself she feared were gone forever.

Furthermore, Simi explained that Lost And Found represents an ongoing journey of self-discovery. Simi’s message to her fans encourages them to join her as she reconnects with her passion for music, melody, and love stories.

Simi assures her fans that this album is crafted with utmost sincerity and uniqueness. “When I sing, I do it first for me, then for you… nobody can bring you what I can. What I have. What I will. Glory to God,” she expressed.

Who is Simi?

Born Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, Simi is a celebrated Nigerian singer, songwriter, and sound engineer. She began her career as a gospel artiste before transitioning to the Afro-pop and R&B genre. She gained widespread recognition with her collaborations with fellow artiste Falz on Jamb Question and Soldier.

Born in Surulere, Lagos, Simi is the youngest of four children. Her parents separated when she was nine years old. Growing up, she was actively involved in her church choir, which helped develop her singing and songwriting skills.

Her breakthrough came with singles like Joromi and Dalilah II establishing her as one of Nigeria’s leading female musicians.
