Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has called on communities in the Gudu Local Government Area to assist the authorities with relevant information, especially intelligence gathering to defeat bandits terrorising the area.

Aliyu gave the charge on Friday while addressing the people of the area who came out to receive him on a thank-you visit to the area.

“Let me call on you my people in Gudu, please try and cooperate with us and give the security agencies information to tackle the banditry disturbing us,” he pleaded.

He explained that securing the area is a collective responsibility, hence the need for all hands to be on the deck.

The governor renewed his administration’s commitment to making the state safe and secure.

Aliyu also pledged to renovate the Balle General Hospital which has been facing serious dilapidation.

“I have directed the immediate renovation of the Balle health facility so that our people will continue to enjoy the services provided by the facility.

“I have equally directed the installation of 250 solar street lights across Gudu Local Government Area,” he added.

According to him, the state government has already awarded the contracts for the renovation of Tangaza to Gudu road to ensure easy access to several communities living along the road.

In his remarks, a former governor of the state and leader of the APC, Aliyu Wamakko, called on the people of the area to continue to support the All Progressives Congress so that they can enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Wamakko commended the leadership style of Aliyu, which according to him, has resulted in the massive transformation of the state.

Earlier, the Gudu Local Government’s sole administrator, Umar Balle, commended. Aliyu for giving security in the area the attention it deserves.

“We the people of Gudu are really appreciative of the special attention you are giving this area any time we confront you with issues relating to security,” Balle stated.

The sole administrator also assured the governor of their continued support at all times.
