Sokoto State Government has declared its intention to work with the United Children’s Education Funds in eradicating child malnutrition and polio in the state.

This was part of the agreements reached during the visit of UNICEF country representation in Nigeria, Ms Christian Munduate, to the state.

During her visit, she held meetings with key stakeholders, including Governor Ahmed Aliyu and his wife, Fatima Ahmed Aliyu, where they agreed to pave the way for impactful initiatives to protect the health and well-being of children.

A statement by the communication specialist of UNICEF, Susan Akila, indicated that the governor announced the state’s contribution to the Child Nutrition Fund, adding the fund would be dedicated to the procurement of nutrition supplies and commodities.
