The Harbour Point Event Centre on Victoria Island, Lagos, came alive on August 12, 2024, as family and friends gathered to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Group Managing Director of Sahara Power Group and Chairman of Ikeja Electric, Kola Adesina, at an evening of joy, laughter, and heartfelt tributes.

Dressed in a teal ensemble that matched the attire of her husband and their children, the birthday boy’s wife, Mosunmmola, radiated happiness as she expressed her love and admiration for her husband, wishing him a lifetime of health and happiness.

“I feel great. It is my husband’s birthday and I am happy. I wish him a long life, good health and sound mind,” she added.

One of the highlights of the event was when a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, said a prayer for the family on the special day.

The different performers on parade to entertain guests also brought a touch of drama to the event.

Timi Dakolo came with a ‘cool vibe’ as he performed his hit track, Iyawo Mi. On his part, Patrick Okorie, aka Patoranking, thrilled the guests to a fun performance, backed by his lively and energetic dancers.

The legendary Sunny Ade crowned it all with his enchanting performance of juju music.

Adesina’s warm and welcoming nature shone through as he took time to personally thank each guest for joining in the festivities.

Prior to the birthday party, his church— RCCG, The New House Parish (Victoria Island, Lagos)— also held a thanksgiving service in his honour.

Among notable guests in attendance to celebrate Adesina were the President of Dangote Group and the richest Black man in the world, Aliko Dangote; the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; and the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and many others.
