Speed Darlington Denied Bail Over Alleged Defamation of Burna Boy

Nigerian singer, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been denied bail by the Nigeria Police Force over alleged defamation of his colleague, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy.

According to Speed Darlington’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the police refused to grant his client bail despite his efforts. The lawyer expressed his disappointment, stating that Burna Boy, who sings about oppression, is using the police to harass Speed Darlington.

Speed Darlington was rearrested by the police on Tuesday during his show in Owerri, the Imo State capital, for allegedly cyberstalking Burna Boy. This is the second time the singer has been arrested in recent months, having been previously detained in October for five days before being released on bail. 

The Nigeria Police Force has yet to comment on the matter.
