Nigeria’s national team goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has expressed his desire to join the ranks of South African football powerhouse, Kaizer Chiefs.
Stanley Nwabali’s aspiration follows a successful display during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d’Ivoire, where he garnered significant attention for his performance.
Despite Nwabali’s potential link to the Chiefs, the club ultimately opted to sign Rwanda international Fiacre Ntwari, who joined from another local team, TS Galatasaray. This decision marked a new direction for Kaizer Chiefs, leaving Nwabali to reassess his future.
In the wake of this development, Nwabali has taken a significant step by committing his future to Chippa United. He recently signed a new three-year contract and was honoured with the captaincy role, underscoring his importance to the team.
Nwabali, 28, reflected on his ambitions, saying, “To be honest, Kaizer Chiefs is one of the clubs I want to play for. This is a club that truly captures my interest in South Africa.”
He added, “Kaizer Chiefs is one of the clubs I wanted to play for with all my heart. While I won’t say that I have been a long-time supporter, this club has always resonated with me, and I feel a strong desire to don their colours.”
