Super Eagles Must Beat Benin Republic – Moses Simon Says As 14 Players Hit Camp

Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, Moses Simon has stressed the importance of a victorious start for the Super Eagles in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign as they prepare to face the Benin Republic.

The upcoming Super Eagles clash with Benin Republic will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 7.

Ahead of the game, Simon, who plays for French Ligue 1 club Nantes, said the Super Eagles are determined to avenge their previous defeat against Benin Republic.

“Of course, all Nigerians are expecting a win, so we will just go there, do our best,” the Nantes winger was quoted by SCORENigeria.

“The best Nigeria needs is to find a win, this is the most important thing”.

Meanwhile, 14 Super Eagles players have arrived in camp in Uyo, gearing up for the qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Three players, namely Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Frank Onyeka, have recently joined the team in camp, and the remaining nine players are expected to arrive later today.

The team’s first training session will be held tonight at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. This session is open to both the media and fans, providing an exciting opportunity for supporters to catch a glimpse of the team’s preparations.
