Super Eagles Starting Line-Up Vs Rwanda Released

1 week ago 2

Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has announced his starting lineup for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda.

Following last weekend’s victory over the Benin Republic, Eguavoen has made a solitary change to his team, maintaining the 3-4-3 formation that brought success in the previous match.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is set to continue his role between the sticks, supported by a central defensive trio that includes captain William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey.

The wing-back positions will be occupied by Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi, who both reprise their roles from the last game.

In a significant midfield shift, Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been preferred over Alex Iwobi to partner with Wilfred Ndidi, signalling Eguavoen’s intent to refresh the squad’s dynamics.

The attacking front will see Victor Boniface leading the line, flanked by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, aiming to capitalize on their recent good form.

This strategic lineup adjustment reflects Eguavoen’s tactical acumen and readiness to adapt, as the Super Eagles look to secure another crucial win in their quest for AFCON qualification.
