Nine-time African champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria, are preparing to take on France’s senior women’s national football team, in an international friendly match.

The friendly game between the Super Falcons and France’s Les Bleues is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2024, and will be held at the Stade Raymond Kopa, located in the picturesque city of Angers, France. The match is set to kick off at 9:30 PM local time.

Fresh off their recent victory in a two-match friendly series against the Green Ladies of Algeria, where they claimed impressive wins of 2-0 and 4-1 in Ikenne-Remo and Lagos, respectively, the Super Falcons are entering this game with heightened confidence.

Nigeria’s women’s national team, coached by Justine Madugu, has showcased the potential of several home-based professionals, indicating a bright future for the side.

The upcoming match against Les Bleues is significant not only for its competitive nature but also as a vital part of the preparations for both teams.

France are using this friendly as a stepping stone in their preparation for the upcoming League of Nations scheduled for spring 2025, as well as for the highly anticipated UEFA Euro Women Championship, which will take place in Switzerland during the summer of the same year.

Meanwhile, the Super Falcons view this encounter as an opportunity to further integrate new players into the squad. It will serve as an essential test ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to happen in Morocco next summer.

This match marks only the seventh time in history that Les Bleues will play in Angers, making it a notable occasion for French women’s football as well.
