Terrorists Bombard Nigerian Military Base In Yobe With Fighter Drones After Borno Attack

1 day ago 7

On December 25, 2024, suspected terrorists launched a drone attack on the 27 Task Force Brigade base in Buni Gari, Yobe State. According to security sources, the terrorists attacked the base using three fighter drones, which soldiers were able to shoot down after identifying the threat from the strange noises.

This incident follows a similar attack less than 48 hours earlier on the Forward Operating Base in Wajiroko, Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State. In that attack, six soldiers were injured, and a gun truck was damaged as the terrorists used multiple drones armed with locally fabricated grenades.

The Nigerian military has been combating insurgents in the North East region for about 14 years, and these recent drone attacks highlight the evolving tactics of the terrorists.
