Terrorists Kill Kaduna Resident After Delivering N16million As Ransom For Release Of Nine Victims

Terrorists, locally dubbed as bandits, in Kaduna State have killed one Abba, a 27-year-old man, after he delivered N16million and three motorcycles as ransom for the release of nine kidnapped residents.

According to a source, the abduction occurred on April 16, 2024, during a raid on homes in Unguwar Iya and Jere areas of the state, where the bandits initially demanded N30 million.

Confirming the killing, a resident, Shuaibu Hussaini, stated that Abba, who had been negotiating with the bandits, was killed last Saturday after delivering the agreed ransom to the group's leader at a designated location.

"After receiving the ransom and motorcycles, the bandit leader tied Abba with a rope and shot him," Hussaini reported.

Hussaini further explained that a released victim disclosed the motive behind Abba's killing: the bandits leader claimed Abba was disrespectful during ransom negotiations.

The bandits callously informed Abba's family about his fate when questioned about his whereabouts after delivering the ransom.

"The bandit leader instructed the family to retrieve Abba's corpse from a specified location," Hussaini added.

The death of Abba has plunged not only his family but also the entire Jere chiefdom into mourning.

The Kaduna State Police Command has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident.
