Chelsea’s new signing, Filip Jorgensen, has described his move to the Premier League club as a dream come true.

Filip Jorgensen started his football development at the Swedish club Malmö FF before he moved to Spain on January 8, 2014, to play for AD Penya Arrabal Youth team, RCD Mallorca Youth team, and then the Villarreal youth teams.

He started his professional football career on January 5, 2023. Since then, he has made 44 appearances in which he conceded 75 goals and kept 7 clean sheets.

This performance convinced Chelsea’s new coach, Enzo Maresca to sign him. The Stamford Bridge-based club paid €24.50 million for his services.

The 22-year-old Denmark youth international who is also eligible to play for Sweden national team, signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2031.

After completing his move to the Premier League club, Filip Jorgensen said: “This move is a dream come true. I am very excited to have signed for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“I can’t wait to get to know everyone and to start playing with all my new teammates.”

From next season, Filip Jorgensen will compete with other Chelsea goalkeepers, Đorđe Petrović and Robert Sánchez, for the starting shirt. Chelsea’s fourth goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to exit the club permanently this summer after spending last season on loan at Real Madrid.
