President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Idris Ajimobi as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President).

Ajimobi’s appointment follows the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, revealed this in a statement he signed on Saturday titled ‘President Tinubu appoints Senior Special Assistant on Livestock Development.’

Ngelale said President Tinubu seeks to “harness and develop Nigeria’s agricultural potential, including the animal husbandry ecosystem, to spur sustainable economic growth, create industries and jobs, and eradicate violent conflicts between farmers and herders over time.”

He added, “The President expects efficient coordination and liaison on matters relating to this critical sector.”

Also, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Senator Bashir Mohammed as the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters (Office of the President).

The President described Mohammed as an experienced politician and businessman from Kano State.

Mohammed is a former Senator representing Kano Central and former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

Ngelale said President Tinubu “expects that the new Special Adviser on Senate Matters will deploy his immense experience for enhanced synergy between the Executive and the Legislature and for improved government performance.”
