Tinubu mourns ex-ICPC chairman, Emmanuel Ayoola

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the Ayoola family following the death of Justice Emmanuel Ayoola.

Justice Ayoola, a retired Supreme Court Justice of Nigeria and former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, was renowned for his distinguished legal career.

He died on Tuesday at the age of 90.

His service included roles as Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Gambia (1980-1983), Chief Justice of the Gambia (1983-1992), President of the Court of Appeals of Seychelles, and Justice of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria (1992-1998).

In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, Tinubu lauded Justice Ayoola’s dedication to national service, praising his “renowned integrity” and “courage to act in the interest of justice.”

Tinubu also extended his sympathies to the deceased’s associates and the Nigerian judicial community.

The President highlighted that Justice Ayoola will be remembered for his “rare principles, discipline, brilliance, and impeccable jurisprudence knowledge,” and he offered prayers for the repose of Ayoola’s soul and comfort for his family.
