Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has said the works of President Bola Tinubu, in making Nigeria good, attracted Anyim Pius Anyim to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Nwifuru said many other defections from politicians in the South East to APC would continue because the federal government would continue to put out policies for the betterment of Nigeria.
Nwifuru said this on Wednesday while addressing State House Correspondents after he and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, presented the former senate president, Anyim Pius to President Tinubu.
Ebonyi State governor said the APC-led federal government has done very well according to the understanding of the ruling party members.
He said the former secretary to the government of the federation did not join the ruling party because he was looking for work.
“We have been able to do well according to our own understanding and based on our own best judgment and that is what is engineering most of them to join the APC. Like what Mr President has done in so many areas and somebody like Pius is not a pushover.
“He is not somebody that you can say because of money he is joining APC, or that he is hungry or that he is looking for job. So it is based on the position of Mr President as the great leader of our party and Nigeria that is making all of them to join APC,” Nwifuru said.
On his part, Anyim said the country is in trouble and requires contributions from all Nigerians. He added that he was not looking for work.
“I am determined to be sure that the country moves on the right path, and I should be available to contribute my quota,” he said.
