Tinubu signs North West Development Commission Bill

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday accented to the Bill establishing the North West Development Commission.

Briefing the media at the National Assembly yesterday evening, Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau said signing of the Bill is the best thing that will happen to the geopolitical zone in recent times.

Barau commended President Tinubu for the political will to have assented to the bill, stressing that the establishment of the Commission is critical to the rebuilding of the North West which is gravely affected by insecurity.

Talking about the importance of the Bill, he said “the North West zone is a basket of food production in the country but was unfortunately ravaged by insecurity as result of several attacks of Boko Haram insurgents, banditry and kidnapping.

“Today is the happiest day of my life, I sponsored the bill and I have been praying for its assent.

“This is a good thing the President has done for us. The President has in heart the development of this country.

“He has the political will to develop the entire nation irrespective of region , tribe or language.

“He has done well for us. He had demonstrated that he is a leader that has the love of his people.

“He is a leader and he has demonstrated this. I urged Nigerians to be patient. Give him the fullest support and I believe he will change this country the way he was able to change Lagos State.
