Tinubu Swears In Didi Esther Walson-Jack As Substantive Head Of Civil Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

The ceremony occurred just before the Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday at the State House in Abuja.

Naija News reports that President Tinubu approved Walson-Jack’s appointment to this position on July 17, 2024.

Before her current role, she served as the permanent secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education. Walson-Jack was appointed as Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has held various positions across multiple ministries.

An earlier announcement from the presidency confirmed that she succeeds Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024.

Tinubu had on Friday played host to the outgoing Head of the Federal Civil Service alongside the incoming, Walson-Jack.

Naija News reports the meeting between the trio took place at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
