Nigerian forward Gift Orban is on the verge of completing a high-profile move to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, with medicals already scheduled in Germany.
Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Wednesday via X, revealing that Hoffenheim and French club Olympique Lyon have reached an agreement for the transfer.
“Hoffenheim and Olympique Lyon have agreed on a deal for Gift Orban, green light from OL to proceed,” Romano stated.
The move marks a significant step in Orban’s burgeoning career as the talented Nigerian prepares to showcase his skills in one of Europe’s top leagues.
The next phase of the transfer involves formalities on the player’s side to finalise the deal.
Romano added, “Formal steps to follow on player side to get the deal sealed.”
Once the medical is completed and the deal finalised, Orban, who is one of Nigeria’s most promising football talents, is set to become an integral part of Hoffenheim’s squad.
