Nottingham Forest have finalized the signing of Portugal international Jota Silva from a top-tier Portuguese club, Vitoria.

The 25-year-old forward, who signed a four-year contract with Nottingham Forest, impressed last season with 15 goals in 42 matches for Vitoria, earning two international caps for Portugal.

Forest’s football officer, Ross Wilson, expressed excitement about Jota’s transition beyond Portugal, where he had a successful period in the Primeira Liga.

In addition to Jota Silva, Nottingham Forest have secured the signings of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, Newcastle United’s Elliot Anderson, defender Marko Stamenic from Partizan Belgrade, and goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Brazilian club Corinthians this summer.

Nottingham Forest’s head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, aimed to bolster the team’s firepower, especially after finishing 17th in the Premier League last season.

Similarly, Borussia Dortmund completed the signing of Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross for an initial fee of £8 million. The 33-year-old German, who spent seven years at Brighton, is the club’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League with 30 goals and has a total of 32 goals and 52 assists in 261 appearances for the Seagulls.

Brighton reluctantly accepted Dortmund’s offer, understanding Gross’s desire to join his boyhood club. The midfielder’s departure marks the end of an era at Brighton, where he made significant contributions and earned a call-up to the German national team.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have accepted a bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The 24-year-old England international declined a new contract with Chelsea in June, prompting the club to consider offers.

Atletico Madrid’s bid of approximately £33 million was accepted by Chelsea, who are inclined to sell Gallagher to a non-English club despite previous discussions with Aston Villa for a higher fee.

Gallagher’s future remains uncertain as he contemplates the option to negotiate personal terms with Atletico Madrid or potentially explore other opportunities within English football.
