Pharmaceutical company, Trustee Drugs Inc. has launched a healthcare Artificial Intelligence application, Trust HelpCare, to transform health management in Nigeria.

According to a statement by Trustee Drugs, Trust HelpCare is an application, which leverages Google Gemini AI to provide users with a personalised healthcare assistant.

The company said the Trust HelpCare app could be accessed by everyone with a smartphone, as it was available for free on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

According to the company, the Trust Helpcare app helps users keep track of their health, manage chronic conditions and improve their overall well-being.

Pharmacists and founders of Trustee Drugs Inc., Dr Vern Ohaya and Dr Jude Ohaya led the development of the healthcare AI app, which they stated would empower Nigerians “by putting health management into their own hands”.

“The brothers have successfully managed a multi-chain of independent pharmacies in both the United States and Nigeria. Their mission with Trust HelpCare is clear: to improve patient care and reduce medical errors by providing a simple yet powerful tool that anyone can use,” the firm noted.

Ohaya said, “With this app, users can monitor their health more effectively and make informed decisions that can significantly impact their well-being.”

Trust HelpCare is powered by Google Gemini AI, to offer users insights across 24 health parameters, including physical fitness, nutrition, chronic disease management, and mental health, according to the firm.

“This means that Trust HelpCare can offer advice and insights that are tailored specifically to each user,” it added.

Trust HelpCare also allows users to communicate with the app in the English language and Nigeria’s major indigenous languages, including Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, the company noted.

According to Trustee Drugs, the Trust HelpCare app is easy to navigate, even for those who are not tech-savvy.

“Users can create a health summary that can be shared with doctors and healthcare providers, especially in emergencies. This summary can include details about your physical fitness, nutrition, sleep patterns, mental health, and more.

“Users can also upload health reports for analysis by simply taking a picture with their phone or uploading a document. Trust HelpCare will analyze the information and provide insights, helping users understand their health better,” it asserted.

The company highlighted that its security features allowed Trust HelpCare to give users complete control over their health data, with the option to delete their information at any time.

The firm declared, “Trust HelpCare prioritises the security and privacy of its users. The app allows users to delete their data at any time, giving them full control over their health information. This is especially important in today’s digital age, where privacy concerns are at the forefront of technology discussions.”

Further, the company hinted that it would release a newer feature that would integrate over 300 wearable devices, allowing users to sync data from fitness trackers, smartwatches, and other gadgets.

According to Trustee Drugs, it aims to reduce the reliance on healthcare facilities for routine check-ups and minor issues with the Trust HelpCare app.

It stated that the app could help alleviate some of the pressure on Nigeria’s healthcare system, particularly in rural areas, where access to doctors and hospitals may be limited.
