Two restaurant attendants, Armstrong George, 24 and Osinachi Edwin, 21, were on Tuesday arraigned before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court, in Lagos State for allegedly stealing laptops worth N670,000, from their employer.

The duo are facing two counts bordering on conspiracy and stealing preferred against them by the police.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences at about 11 pm, on July 21, 2024.

He said the incident occurred at No 4A, Segun Oshin Close, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Osuji told the court that the defendants stole two Lenovo laptops valued at N410,000 and one Tinkalaptop valued at N260,000.

He said the total worth of the three laptops is N670,000, property of Urban Eat Restaurant.

According to the prosecutor, the offences committed contravened Sections 411 and 287 (7), of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

However, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

Magistrate Oluwatosin Erinle granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with one surety each in like sum.

She said the surety must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and have his address verified.

The case was adjourned till August 24, 2024, for a mention.
