TY Danjuma, Akpabio, Governors Grace Gamai Bible Launch

Arrangements have been completed for the presentation and dedication of the Gamai Bible to the public and the launch of a N500 million appeal fund to develop the Gamai Literacy Project on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Shendam in Plateau State, Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the Project, Sir Joseph N. Ari, KSM, KSS, OON, disclosed this after inspecting the venue of the program and briefing the Long Gamai of the Gamai nation, Miskoom Martin Mudu’utrie Shaldas III, on the level of preparations for the launching.

Sir Ari further disclosed that contacts have been made and assured that the event, which will be under the Chairmanship of HE Distinguished Senator Goodwill Akpabio, the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume; will also host many prominent Nigerians across all divide.

He added that General TY Danjuma will be the program’s Distinguished Guest of Honour and lead other dignitaries to the epoch-making event, which has Bishop Mrs Tina Bawa Shitgurum of Tina Bawa Ministry as the Chairlady.

His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, who is the Special Guest of Honour, according to Sir Ari, is expected to lead other Governors to the Dedication and launching as Guests of Honour, among whom are HE Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue; HE Agbu Kefas, of Taraba State; HE. Rt Hon Ahmadu U. Fintiri of Adamawa, as well as Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kali, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and Senator Jim Kuta, Taraba South, while HE Hope Uzodinma, the Governor of Imo State, will serve as the co – Bible presenter at occasion.

The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee stressed the importance and/or benefits of producing and launching the Gamai Bible and Gamai Literacy Project, which include developing and advancing the Gamai language and, by extension, saving it from extinction.
