Award winning voice over artist, Stephanie Ugbeye, also known as The Vocal Expressionist, has been nominated for the Best Animation Performance and Best Narration in the voice over category of the 2024 edition of the African Podcast and Voice (APVA) awards by Afripods.

The theme for this year’s awards, ‘King of The Game’, celebrates the resilience, creativity and leadership of African audio creatives.

“This year, we aim to reflect on our collective journey toward excellence, innovation, and the mastery of our craft, affirming that every voice has the power to shape our world. This theme is recognition of the hard work, the late nights, the endless edits and the courage to tell stories that matter,” founder of APVA, Bidemi Adedire, said.

The founder added that Ugbeye embodies the resilience, creativity, and leadership that would be celebrated this year. “Her work is a testament to the power of African voices to shape our world.”

Ugbeye, acknowledging the nomination, thanked APVA for nominating her twice for this award. “I am very passionate about producing audio stories and it’s a great honour to be nominated alongside my fellow outstanding African voice artists in these categories. Thank you for recognizing our hard work and dedication to the industry at large.

“Thank you also for celebrating our resilience. We go through a lot of sleepless nights, countless edits and numerous challenges to tell timeless stories. I’m sincerely grateful for your acknowledgment of our efforts.

“It’s a great honour to be nominated alongside my fellow talented Kings of the Game in voice over. We burn for this! Together we shine! A huge congratulations to all the APVA nominees this year!” she said. The winners will be announced on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
