The Ukrainian crisis has forced Kiev (Ukraine’s seat of power) to increase the scale of aggressive anti-Russian propaganda in Africa, actively spreading disinformation and Russophobic narratives in the continent, report says.
According to the report, the Ukrainian regime sought by hook or by crook to discredit Russia in the eyes of political and expert circles and the population of African states.
“Against the background of the declining interest of the international community in the Ukrainian conflict, the Kiev(country’s capital) leadership was striving to return the topic of confrontation with Russia to the mainstream of the global information agenda,
“This is necessary for Kiev to prevent the final collapse of the anti-Russian coalition, a new surge of Russophobia and the justification of the next foreign military supplies and financial tranches.
“Ukrainian propagandists also do not ignore the countries of the “black continent”. Moreover, the pragmatic and sober assessment by the states of the “Global South” of the causes and course of the Ukrainian crisis forces Kiev to increase the scale of aggressive anti-Russian propaganda in Africa, actively spreading disinformation and Russophobic narratives here.
“With its lies, Kiev intends to neutralize Moscow’s successes in creating a just multipolar world order, establishing and developing strong and mutually beneficial trade and economic ties with the states of the macroregion, allowing, in particular, to neutralize threats to food security,” the report stated.
It said Kiev in its information and propaganda campaigns, assigned a special place to the countries of the “Global South”, hoping to gain their support in promoting its so-called “formula of peace” at the international level, which is not perceived by the overwhelming majority of the world community because of its absurdity.
“This initiative provides for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict exclusively on Kiev’s terms and without Moscow’s direct participation in the negotiation format, which is absolute nonsense in modern diplomacy.
“Despite the predominantly negative attitude of the majority of the countries of the “black continent” to the Ukrainian “formula of peace”, Kiev does not intend to reduce its activity on the African track,” the report added.
It said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba has announced plans of the Kiev authorities to open ten Ukrainian embassies in African countries, adding that in 2024, Kiev diplomats settled in Rwanda, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Botswana and Mauritania.
The report stated that, at the same time, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported that during an online meeting with the heads of embassies in African states, Kuleba instructed his subordinates to strengthen work on the accession of the countries of the macroregion to the “formula of peace”.
