The Managing Director of Globalplus Publishers (GPP), Mrs. Folashade Imoagene, has said that with the unstable foreign exchange it is better to print in Nigeria as publishing firms like GPP has increased capacity to meet the demand of clients in terms of quality and meeting deadlines no matter the quantity.
Imoagene, who stated this at the unveiling of GPP’s newly installed ecolinemanugraph web printing machine, noted that as a result of the fluctuating exchange rate publishers are looking more inward and GPP is ready to meet their demands.
“That is why we are doing this investment. This is because we have to build our capacity as a nation and keep our money in Nigeria. When you think about printing, we want you to think about GPP first.”
She said the unveiling of the new printing machine is significant milestone in the journey of the company, praising the Bank of Industries for the intervention funds that has helped it to expand. She also commended FCMB for providing the guarantee for the loan provided by BOI and its numerous customers of printers and publishers who have helped it to stay afloat through its patronage.
“As the foremost and preferred printing press, not only within this country, but beyond the shores of Nigeria, the capacity expansion with the addition of the web that we are launching is a major leap forward in our business positioning,” Imoagene stated.
The Chairman, GPP, Yemisi Kudehinbi, said GPP is committed to contributing to the growth of the printing industry in Nigeria and make Nigeria proud among comity of nations.
“And we believe that we will be able to do that. And so working together with all of you, I believe that we will have more launching, ribbon cutting, and milestones.”
The Managing Director, Bank of industries, Dr. OlasupoOlusi, who commended GPP’s commitment to excellence in publishing and dedication to delivering quality content, said: “Your contributions to the industry are invaluable, and we are honored to be a part of your success.”
Represented by the acting Regional Manager, Lagos, Richard Imonije, he promised to provide additional assistance within its purview to GPP. “Thank you for choosing us as your partner, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and mutual success.”
The Managing Director of FCMB, Yemisi Edun, said that the BOI loan was guaranteed because the bank believed the step is about foresight, which aligns with the bank’s own vision. “I said for them to want to do this, that means they have done their homework and realized that this will contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s economy.”
During the several goodwill messages, publishers, printers and stakeholders applauded GPP for the addition as it would boost printing industry in Nigeria.
