Victor Osimhen Needs To Work Hard – Antonio Conte

Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte has urged Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen to work hard since he is still part of his team.

Victor Osimhen and Napoli have an agreement that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer as long as his suitors pay his release clause which is said to be €130 million.

Unfortunately for Osimhen who was the most sought-after striker last summer following a season in which he scored 26 goals and provided five assists in 32 league games, he couldn’t do much last season.

His not-too-convincing performance in the 2023-2024 season and the hefty release clause attached to his contract made it difficult for a top European club to go all out for his signature.

Hence, the 25-year-old Nigerian striker has resumed training at Napoli, a side he is still contracted to until June 30, 2026.

Earlier this week, Osimhen was seen limping out of the training field after a tense training session with Antonio Conte following a very fun-filled break in Nigeria.

According to quotes shared by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano earlier today, July 13, Antonio Conte acknowledged that he has had a meeting with Osimhen and the footballer’s decision to leave the club this summer still stands.

“I spoke to Victor and there are no changes in his situation. He’s a top player,” Conte said.

“He’s Napoli player today so he needs to work hard, even if we have an agreement [for his potential exit] and still we don’t know the outcome of this story.”
