Victor Osimhen’s Agent, Roberto Calenda Debunks Swap, Loan Deal With Chelsea

The agent of Victor Osimhen, Roberto Calenda, has refuted recent claims about the Nigerian striker’s potential loan move to Chelsea.

Earlier this week, the Athletic reported that Chelsea are pursuing a loan deal for Victor Osimhen with a buy option and considering a swap deal involving Belgium international Romelu Lukaku to Napoli.

However, Calenda dismissed these reports, emphasizing Osimhen’s significant contributions to Napoli as the top scorer during their third Scudetto win (2022-2023 season).

“I read about ‘fantasy exchanges’ with Victor… as if he was a package to be delivered quickly,” Calenda wrote on X.

“This package is the top scorer of the third Scudetto in the history of Napoli.

“Respect and stop fake news!”.

On the other hand, there are reports that Arsenal are looking to hijack Chelsea’s attempts to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

It was reported that Arsenal showed interest in the Nigerian striker last summer, but coach Mikel Arteta shifted his focus to Benjamin Sesko this summer.

With Sesko opting to remain with RB Leipzig, Arteta is exploring alternative options in the market. Despite Chelsea’s proposal of a loan plus swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku, Arsenal are said to be re-entering the race to sign Osimhen, although no formal offer has been made yet.

Also, Arteta is open to considering Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres as an alternative option. The Swedish forward’s impressive record of 29 goals and 10 assists in 33 league games for Sporting Lisbon has caught Arteta’s attention.
