Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has been the subject of a significant offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, worth €70 million, but his agent, Roberto Calenda, has insisted that his client won’t move “far away”.

Naija News gathered that Victor Osimhen has not yet agreed to move to Saudi Arabia, as he is reportedly hoping for a concrete deal from top European clubs such as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

It has been reported that Osimhen is waiting until the transfer deadline day to assess his options before considering the offer from Al-Ahli.

Should no attractive offers from Europe materialize, Osimhen may reconsider the move to Saudi Arabia. Note that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia is set to close on October 6, while that of major leagues in Europe closes on August 31.

There are indications that Napoli would prefer Osimhen to move to the Middle East to generate funds for other transfers.

Nevertheless, Roberto Calenda has released a statement emphasizing Osimhen’s commitment to Napoli, pointing out that the player has recently renewed his contract with the club, which will expire on June 30, 2027.

Calenda’s statement highlighted Osimhen’s achievements in European football and emphasized the player’s desire to continue making an impact in Europe.

The statement reads: “Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction.

“He made history, and when there were m, major offers (also this year), we always accepted the club’s decisions.

“As I said, he is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets.

“Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, (and) he still has so much to do in Europe.

“There is need (for) respect and balance.”
