The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has cleared the flooded Freedom Way Junction in the Lekki area of the state following a social media alert.
This was made known in a statement by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab on Tuesday.
The response came after OAP Yawnaija posted a video of the flooded area on Instagram, expressing concern about the safety of motorists.
He wrote, “Omo, not sure this flood is from the rain oooo. If you don’t have a strong car… no try am oooo. Pls let’s be safe out there.”
Responding Wahab acknowledged that a blocked culvert caused the overflow and directed the Emergency Flood Abatement Gang to immediately clean the drainage channel.

“I have instructed the officers from Emergency Flood Abatement Gang (EFAG) of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to begin an immediate cleaning of the drainage channel.
