VIDEO: Man to face prosecution for dumping refuse on Lagos road

Officials of the Lagos Waste Management Authority have arrested one Wale Akindeinde for illegally disposing of refuse at the road median adjacent to the Car Wash Bus Stop along Idimu Road.

The state Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a statement accompanied by a video and posted on X.com on Friday.

He wrote, “On 18th of March, 2025, LAWMA Waste Infractions Surveillance and Investigation team apprehended a suspect, Wale Akindeinde for illegally disposing of refuse at the road median adjacent to the Car Wash Bus Stop along Idimu Road.

“It was also observed that the house registered with PSP operator and they come weekly (payment receipt was provided) but the house lacks a waste storage facility.”

Wahab noted the suspect will be prosecuted in accordance with the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017 to ensure compliance with waste management regulations.

PUNCH Online similarly reports that LAWMA officials recently arrested a woman and a security man, respectively, for dumping refuse on the road.
