Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has reflected on personal achievements and the nation’s state during the 64th Independence Day.

In a post via Instagram, the movie star expressed gratitude for the support received during a recent film production while acknowledging the severe challenges in Nigeria, such as hardship, poor governance, and harsh economic conditions.

Notwithstanding the challenges bedevilling the country, Iyabo Ojo emphasized the importance of personal responsibility in rebuilding the country, arguing that change begins with each individual rather than relying solely on the government.

She urged Nigerians to focus on positive actions within their homes and communities, adding they should set a good example for future generations and foster a culture of responsibility.

She wrote: “Today, October 1st, as we celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day, I want to express gratitude to everyone who’s supported me during my production. It’s a wrap, and I’m thankful.

“However, I acknowledge the challenges Nigeria faces. We’re going through tough times, hardship, and poor governance. But I urge us to recognize that repairing our country begins with each of us.

“We can’t rely solely on the government; we must take individual responsibility. We’ve made our names, money, and livelihoods here. We can’t abandon ship; we must work together to rebuild.

“Charity begins at home:

“Let’s teach our children the right values
“Lead by example
“Be our brother’s keeper
“Foster a sense of community
“Promote integrity and honesty

“By doing right in our homes, communities, and society, we can create a better nation.

“Let’s shun corruption, self-entitlement, and negativity. Let’s raise responsible citizens and work towards a brighter future.

“Nigeria is our home; no other land can replace it. Let’s embrace, celebrate, and improve it together.

“Together, Nigeria can be great again. Thank you, I love you all, and I love Nigeria. God bless NG.”
