Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles narrowly beat popular streamer and social media star IShowSpeed in a 50m dash on Wednesday.

Speed is known for his athletic ability, and fans were surprised his race with the world champion was even close.

During one of his stream on Wednesday, popular YouTuber MrBeast challenged the 19-year-old to race the 'fastest man on earth' Lyles.

MrBeast offered $100,000 in prize money for the race. Speed eventually drove to the race track to face one of the best sprinters in the world.

The two were neck and neck in the first few metres. In fact, Speed was slightly ahead, but Lyles' experience kicked in, and he overtook the youngster to win the race.

After the epic showdown, Lyles challenged Speed to train with him and face off again after a week, this time in the 100m, per Bleacher Report. Lyles won the Olympic gold medal in the distance by the tiniest of margins.

The American defeated Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by five thousandths of a second to secure his first-ever gold medal at the Paris Olympics. However, he lost the 200m and didn't run in the relay, which his team also lost.

Letsile Tebogo beats Noah Lyles

Legit.ng earlier reported that Letsile Tebogo upset Noah Lyles to win the gold medal in the 200m final.

The Botswana sprinter clocked 19.46 seconds to win his country's first-ever gold medal at the Olympic Games.

Lyles claimed he had contracted COVID-19, which negatively impacted his performance in the race.
