Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has shared more details on why Edu Gaspar decided to resign as the club’s sporting Director.
Speaking ahead of his team’s Champions League game against Inter Milan, Arteta explained that Edu got an amazing opportunity in a different role, which he believes is the right professional move for him.
The Spanish tactician added that everyone at Arsenal respects the decision taken by Edu.
“He’s had an amazing opportunity in a different role, and he believes that it’s the right professional move for him.
‘We have to respect that and from the bottom of my heart I think everybody really feels that we want the best for him,” Arteta said.
Naija News recalls Edu on Monday afternoon, confirmed he is set to leave Arsenal after five years at the club.
Recall that Edu Gaspar played for Arsenal from 2001 to 2005, contributing to winning two league titles, including being part of the historic ‘Invincibles’ team in the 2003-2004 season.
Gaspar returned to the Gunners as technical director in the summer of 2019 and was subsequently promoted to sporting director in November 2022.
