The founder of Abig Nwankwo Foundation, Chief Abig Nwankwo, has explained why he chose to celebrate talent, and teamwork through football competition.
Speaking at the finals of the 2024 edition of an annual football competition he organised through his foundation, Abig Nwankwo Foundation, Nwankwo expressed excitement that he was able to touch lives through football, celebrating talents and teamwork.
He stated, “As we gear up for next year’s edition, we remain committed to impactful projects in education, sports, health, and women empowerment.”
He averred that the tournament, designed to empower youth, foster community spirit, and discover emerging talent, was a key initiative of the Foundation’s commitment to community development, adding, “Together, we can achieve even more for our communities and pave the way for a brighter future.
“The grand finale of this football tournament is a celebration of teamwork, talent, and community spirit. Watching the incredible energy on the field and the passion from the crowd reminded me why we started this initiative.”
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the teams “for giving us unforgettable moments on the field.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Chief Nwankwo expressed optimism that Abig Nwankwo Foundation has consistently undertaken transformative projects aimed at youth empowerment, women’s development, and improving healthcare and education.
These efforts, he said, underscore the Foundation’s mission to uplift lives and create sustainable growth within communities.
The grand finale of the competition played in Okijah, Anambra State, attracted notable dignitaries, including renowned entrepreneur and Chairman of Cubana Group, Chief Obinna lyiegbu, and other guests from across the South-East.
