Former Brazil National Team star, Willian has confirmed that he is leaving Fulham, where he spent the last two seasons of his football career.

Willian, 36, joined the Premier League club on a free transfer in September 2022 after leaving Brazilian side Corinthians.

The 36-year-old out-of-favour Brazil international confirmed he has left Fulham in a lengthy statement on Instagram earlier today, August 16, 2024.

“I would like to thank Fulham for a wonderful two years,” Willian wrote.

“It was special to return to the Premier League and be part of this historic club and the amazing fans.

“I have had incredible moments and this club will always be in my heart.”

Before Willian confirmed his exit from the Premier League club, Willian made 67 appearances in all competitions for Fulham in which he scored 10 goals.

Note that the Brazilian has spent 10 years of his playing career in the Premier League, all of which has been for London clubs.

Recall that he spent his first seven years in England with Chelsea between 2013 and 2020, where he won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and Europa League.

In 2020, Willian made an unexpected move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium, where he played for Arsenal for a season. He returned to Brazil to join his childhood club, Corinthians, in 2021.

As it stands, his next destination has not been confirmed, but he is not likely to feature for a Premier League club this season due to his advanced age and drop in form.
