Making its way into the beauty and accessories space, Eami’s Place, threw open its doors to the public recently to the delight of guests and admirers.
Situated in Victoria Island, Lagos and founded by two sisters, Ediana and Itoro Okopide, they said their 2-in-1 beauty and souvenir place, which boasts luxurious and iconic pieces from all over the world, started online before evolving into a physical store.
Revealing that because they stock items from all over the world, Itoro said foreign exchange is a bit of challenge for them. “However, we travel often to look for items ourselvesas Ediana has a travel company and travels often. Whenever she travels, she gets the hand-picked, unique pieces that ensure our originality and quality.”
Itoro said a walk-in store was needed so that customers and lovers of unique items and accessories get a first-hand feel of what they have to offer. “We are open to all and available to everyone that loves unique gift items. We stock vintage South African wines, Arabic pieces, accessories from Europe and hair bundles and wigs from Asia.”
Speaking, Ediana said her love for exotic pieces stemmed from realising that when Nigerians travel outside the country, they often do not interact/immerse themselves in the culture of that place. “My travel brand was concerned with getting Nigerians immersed in the culture of their visiting country and the souvenir store was birthed from there as well. I travel with groups and partner with some brands who help bring pieces from different countries. There was a good reception for these pieces, especially for those who could not afford to travel themselves.”
