Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the Wole Soyinka Art Theatre formerly National Theatre would be open to the public in the next two to three months.
He said this on Sunday after taking a tour of the facility along with some state officials and the contractors.
The governor said that it is exciting that the refurbished work done around the art theatre has transformed the whole space and edifice into a thing of pride not only for the state but for the country.
“I am excited about what the Bankers Committee has done and this has shown that when we put our mind into something we can get things right,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the renovation and the works done has brought out the old glory of the once comatose art theatre.
He commended all the teams that worked to deliver the project in the last five years.
“It is going to be a place where the international audience will see that we are ready to take on the world in the area of tourism and conference.”
