A 41-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a six-year-old boy.

Karolina Zurawska was arrested on Thursday after officers were called to Cwm Du Close in the Gendros area of Swansea at about 20:30 BST on Thursday.

She has also been charged with attempted murder involving a 67-year-old man earlier on the same date.

She will appear at Swansea Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Ch Supt Chris Truscott, divisional commander for Swansea and Neath Port Talbot, said it was "a distressing incident" which had been "a tremendous shock to the local community".
