Yemi Alade Accuses Lagos Radio Station of Blacklisting Her Music

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has made a shocking accusation against a popular Lagos radio station, Cool FM Nigeria and CloudAfrica FM, claiming that they have blacklisted her music.

According to Yemi Alade, the radio station invited her to perform at their December 2023 event, but she was unable to attend. After reaching out to apologize, she felt ignored by the station’s management.

The singer alleged that the managers of Cool FM and CloudAfrica FM, Mr. Serge Noujaim and Mr. Joseph Adamu, held her absence against her, resulting in her music being removed from their playlists for nearly a year.

Yemi Alade expressed her shock and disappointment at the situation, stating, “Since December 2023, I personally reached out in January. You are still refusing to play my music and giving my team a hard time.”

She accused the radio station’s management of intimidation and trying to “play God,” adding, “The common decency to reach out and clear up any misunderstanding caused by sheer carelessness on your part for a whole year, and your next move is to place an embargo on my songs?”
