Following the recent ban on the use of drones by military authorities across the North East theatre of operations, the Yobe State government has urged compliance with the directive from the people of the state.

This came through the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the State Governor, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (retd), in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to the security adviser, the move is to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.

He said military authorities have reiterated that any breaches of the ban, no matter how insignificant, would be viewed very seriously.

Gen Abdulsalam expressed gratitude for the citizens’ support and cooperation, while reaffirming commitment to the air component of Operation HADIN KAI.

This commitment, he added, ensures effective monitoring and regulation of aerial operations, encompassing aircraft and drones, within the North East theatre of operation.
