The President of Zamfara State Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, ZACCIMA, Dr. Hassan Buhari has urged Governor Dauda Lawal to resuscitate moribund industries in the state.
Buhari further appealed to the state government to approve hosting of 2024 Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States’ Joint Domestic Trade Fair, JDTF, being proposed by the Chamber to be hosted in the state.
He also called on the government to facilitate access to loan facilities for its members, establishment of a micro finance bank, and create opportunities for members to attend foreign missions and provide more security to mining and agricultural sectors.
Buhari in the same vein decried the collapse of industries in the state, including Zamfara Textile Industries, describing the development as a setback to the socioeconomic progress of the state.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Governor Dauda Lawal at the Government House, Gusau, he said the proposed Joint Trade Fair will showcase the economic potentials of the state to the outside world and attract local and foreign investors to the state.
“If a microfinance bank is established, it will be a morale booster to SMEs, business and non business individuals, and would strengthen economic and financial leverage of the state.
“As a member of Federation of West Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, FWCCI and National Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, ZACCIMA serves the interest of members and non members,” he added.
He lauded the governor for his efforts towards the transformation of Zamfara State.
