Zamfara Govt Speaks On Appointing Terrorist, Bashir Hadejia As Adviser

The Zamfara State government has dismissed reports on the appointment of controversial terrorist, Bashir Hadejia as a Governor’s adviser.

Recall that Hadejia was arrested on Monday last week over alleged treason and subversion against the state.

Naija News reports that a letter, dated October 27, 2023, purportedly signed by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Mal Abubakar M. Nakwada, alleging that the state government offered an appointment to the suspected gunrunner made rounds online.

The letter alleged that Hadejia was appointed as the Technical Adviser, Mining under the office of the state.

Reacting to the purported appointment, the Zamfara State government, in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media, office of the secretary to the state government, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, described the letter in circulation as fake and attempted to mislead the public.

Tudu said Governor Daudu Lawal did not offer any appointment to Hadejia, and the purported appointment letter is aimed at smearing the image of his administration.

The statement read, “For the records, Governor Lawal has not made any such appointment and Bashir Hadejia has not been appointed to any position in the present government.

“This doctored document letter is the handwork of mischief makers as part of their broader attempts to mislead the public and smear the good image of Governor Lawal’s administration.”
