The Board of Directors and staff of the Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) have joined with people from all corners of the globe to honour its Executive Director, Dr. Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi on his 60th birthday.
A statement signed by the Chairman, Board of Directors, Professor Momodu Kassim-Momodu and Sani Shu’aibu of Finance & Administrations reads: “His journey through life has been marked by an unwavering passion for justice and a deep compassion for humanity. He is a beacon of hope in the realms of human rights, social justice, and democratic principles.
“Affectionately called ‘Comrade Zik’ among his peers in the human rights community, he embodies the qualities of bravery and resilience. His steadfast commitment to fostering a better world is evident in every initiative he undertakes.
“As we celebrate his birthday, we take a moment to reflect on his relentless endeavours to uplift marginalised communities, ensure accountability among leaders, and advocate for the rights of all individuals, regardless of their background. ”
His tireless commitment to human rights and anti-corruption efforts has spanned many years, earning him both national and international acclaim and respect.
“Under his visionary executive guidance at CHRICED and across Nigeria’s civil society, Zik has spearheaded numerous initiatives and campaigns that empower citizens to assert their rights and demand accountability from their leaders. His altruism, extensive knowledge, and fervour for justice have inspired a new generation of human rights advocates and social activists. He has not only been a mentor but also a source of inspiration for many who aspire to make a difference in their communities.
