Two teenage boys on a Police-wanted list for crimes have been nabbed by the Adamawa State Command.

The command said on Tuesday that the boys, both 18 years old, were among young criminal elements known around the state as Shila Boys.

“The Command’s bold step is yielding results as two notorious radical Shila cult groups who were on the wanted list of the command were arrested,” the command said in a statement released by the state police image maker, SP Suleiman Nguroje.

The suspects, according to the statement, are Bagir Magaji Muhammad, a resident of Layin Chinko; and Zaradeen Hadi, a resident of Sohon Kasuwa, both in Yola North local Government Area.

The statement explained that the suspects had paved the path to their own arrest when on Monday, November 4, 2024, they trailed and robbed one Habiba Umar of her handset using offensive weapons.

The statement said when the matter was reported, the suspects were promptly traced and intercepted by detectives of the anti-narcotics unit of the Command.

“Investigation so far led to the recovery of the robbed handset, one sharp knife and a horn,” the police added.

DAILY POST reports that the substance of this particular arrest is not on what the suspects did this time but on what they had been doing that got them into the police watch list.

”Snatching phones and other valuables during the day and at night is a pastime of the Shila Boys that makes use of phone, their prime target, a risky affair in Yola and other major towns in Adamawa State,” said the command.
