The Grand Ballroom of the Oriental Hotel in Lagos sparkled with elegance as Greenwich Group, a financial solutions provider, celebrated its 30th anniversary with an exclusive dinner.
The event brought together an array of dignitaries, captains of industry, and stakeholders to mark three decades of innovation, growth and excellence in the Nigerian financial sector.
The celebratory dinner was an occasion to honor the group’s loyal clients, staff, and stakeholders who had been integral to its journey.
A key highlight of the evening was the recognition of outstanding contributions, the presentation of a posthumous leadership award worth N50m to the late (Sir) Remi Omotosho, the Kayode Falowo Award for Excellence given to the best staff across the group, including Yakashim Shettem, with cash gifts.
Decorated in resplendent and exotic lights and flowers, the hall dazzled with luxurious decors, while guests looked elegant in different styles.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the group, Kayode Falowo, expressed gratitude to God and the stakeholders who had supported the institution over the years.
“This dinner is part of our broader initiative to appreciate our clients and recognise the loyalty and hard work of our staff as we embark on our next phase of growth, which includes the group’s readiness to transform further, leveraging its Approval-In-Principle to enter new sectors,” he said.
Commending Falowo’s exemplary leadership and Greenwich’s remarkable achievements, the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, stated, “We are celebrating the testament of tenacity, predicated on faith, hope and fortitude. Kayode is someone who upholds all the attributes of good governance and has proven to be a good manager of human and financial resources. Your best is yet to come.”
The Managing Director of Greenwich Merchant Bank, Benson Ogundeji, also expressed gratitude to the stakeholders, customers, and staff who have supported the institution’s vision.
Other highlights of the evening include the cutting of the cake and a dance session.
The star-studded event was attended by a host of notable figures, including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi; Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Emomotimi Agama; and Phillip Ikeazor, Deputy Governor of Financial System Stability at the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Others present included President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Pius Olanrewaju; Managing Director of Central Securities Clearing System Plc, Haruna Jalo-Waziri; and Pro-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Prof Oluwatoyin Ashiru.
