The former Atlético Madrid forward, who appeared far from impressed with the video making the rounds, responded to one of the videos with an emoji, showing his disappointment with the reports.

The ‘Ronaldo fanboy,’ as he is fondly dubbed, also posted a photo, pointing out that he celebrated with Messi – who, in return, had a smile on his face and was clearly not looking to give the United starlet the cold shoulder.

Garnacho had earlier commented on social media under a Lionel Messi post: “Thank you for everything, captain.”

Argentina became the first country to win the Copa America for a record 16th time, edging arch-rivals Uruguay on the joint record shared with their win in the United States.

Garnacho featured for a total of 66 minutes during the showpiece, with his appearance coming in the final group stage fixture against Peru.
