The Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to growth, innovation, and economic prosperity as the state marks its 49th anniversary.
Addressing journalists on Monday, Yakubu Adamu, the State Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, emphasised that the milestone not only reflects Bauchi’s rich history but also underscores its collective journey toward progress.
Adamu praised Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, highlighting its significant achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
“Bauchi has made remarkable progress in various sectors of the economy. The administration of Governor Bala Mohammed has worked diligently to improve the living conditions of our people, create job opportunities, and lay the groundwork for sustainable economic growth,” he said.
He further noted the government’s commitment to enhancing road networks, revitalising agricultural programs, expanding access to quality healthcare, and investing in education, describing these as “modest but clear reflections of our governor’s dedication to the welfare of our people.”
Reaffirming the state’s economic agenda, Adamu assured that the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development will continue to drive initiatives that promote growth. He also called for collaboration among stakeholders, including members of the banking industry, to ensure a more prosperous and innovative future for the state.
“We must work together to foster an environment that supports growth, innovation, and prosperity for all,” he stressed.
Created on February 3, 1976, Bauchi State has continued to experience meaningful development under successive administrations.
Adamu noted that each leadership has contributed to building landmark legacies, ensuring steady progress for the state.
As Bauchi nears its golden jubilee, the government stated that it remains focused on economic advancement and social development, promising a brighter future for generations to come.
