The 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has left Kano State for the first time since his return in May following his controversial removal from the throne by the state Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

According to a source who spoke with Daily Trust, Bayero traveled to Abuja for an official engagement, attending a high-level meeting involving traditional leaders.

His departure marks his second significant outing since his dismissal from the throne.

Bayero had previously been spotted at the annual peace prayer for the nation organized by the Isyaku Rabiu family.

Despite his removal, Bayero continues to lay claim to the Kano throne and is currently residing in the Nassarawa mini palace.

Meanwhile, Kano State is currently without a serving emir, as the 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, is away in the United Kingdom defending his PhD thesis.

Bayero was sighted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja alongside the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and other dignitaries.

At the time of filing this report the aim of the meeting between the monarchs is not known.
