The Benue girls trafficked to Ivory Coast have been repatriated back home and are currently in rehabilitation.
This was disclosed by the Zonal Commander, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Makurdi Zonal Office, Gloria Bai.
She spoke to journalists after a security meeting at the Government House, Makurdi, on Thursday.
Bai said the lady who took them to Ivory Coast under the guise of securing jobs for them has been arrested and will soon be charged to court.
She commended the efforts of the Benue State Government for ensuring the girls’ return to the state.
Bai advised parents, guardians, and job seekers to always be vigilant to safeguard against issues of trafficking.

The girls, aged between 18 and 21, were recently seen in a viral video circulating on social media, lamenting their ordeal.
The girls, who spoke Tiv, revealed that they were trafficked to the country for prostitution by a syndicate led by a lady based in Jato Aka, Kwande Local Government Area of the state.
